Modelling Sessile Droplet Profile Using Asymmetrical Ellipses

Modelling the profile of a liquid droplet has been mainstream technique for researchers to study physical properties liquid. This proposes facile modelling approach using an elliptic model generate sessile droplets, with MATLAB as simulation environment. The concept method is simple and easy use. Only three specific points on are needed complete theoretical along its critical parameters such volume, surface area, height, contact radius. In addition, we introduced fitting coefficients accurately determine angle tension droplet. Droplet volumes ranging from 1 300 µL were chosen this investigation, angles 90° 180°. Our proposed was also applied images actual water droplets good results. demonstrates that in excellent agreement Young–Laplace equation can be used rapid accurate approximation profiles angle.
